Thanks for choosing Falbo Bros.! Get ready for a unique pizza experience. Before they try our pizza, people always ask us What is your pizza like? Is it Chicago style? New York style? The answer isneither! Our pizza is unique. We have taken inspirations from New York style thin crust pizza, Chicago Style deep dish and stuffed pizza and created our own unique style.

We make all of our pizzas the old fashioned way, the crust is rolled by hand, using dough made fresh by hand every few hours. The sauce is made from scratch, fresh every day. Our philosophy on cheese and toppings is simple, we put a ton of both on every pizzaskimping is for the other guys.

Fitzpatrics Brewing Company

2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday
11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday
5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday.

Fitspatricks/Brewery gives patrons the choice of elegant dinning in an impressive setting or the fun environment of an authentic Irish pub. The menu is highlighted by the selection of hand-cut steaks and tender prime rib. For my money though, you cannot beat the salmon club, its remarkable. The staff is fun and energetic, adding to the experience. The real reason I keep coming back is the selection of house beers. There is a wide selection, catering to the diverse tastes of beer-lovers everywhere. There is a wit that is mavelous, very crisp, a light beer that puts Bud Light and Lite Beer to shame, a wheat beer that is tasty, a brown and pale ale that are both very satisfying, an award-winning stout that I have heard to be described as dangerously smooth, and my favorite, the double bach, rich and creamy packing a major punch. There really isnt anything more enjoyable than putting away a few of these terrific brews in the beer garden on a sunny Iowa City afternoon.

Hamburg Inn & Hamburg Inn No. 2

www.hamburginn.com

The Hamburg Inn story began in the mid 1930s when Joe Panther started Hamburg Inn on Iowa Avenue. His brother Adrian eventually joined Joe. Hamburgers sold for a nickel, there were 10 burgers to the pound and they gained the nickname grease spots. Adrian eventually bought the restaurant from Joe. In 1948, Mrs. Vans Restaurant on N. Linn Street cam up for sale and was bought by another brother, Fritz Panther and his wife, Fran. Adrian and Fritz formed a partnership and over the years had Hamburg Inn #1 and #2, Big Ten Inn on Riverside Drive and the Airport Inn in Iowa City. They also had Hamburg Inn #3 in Cedar Rapids on Center Point Road. Hamburg Inn No. 2 is the only remaining location. Dave Panther, Fritz and Frans son, bought the restaurant in 1979 from his parents and has continued the tradition of Comfort Food in a Fifties Time Capsule. For over 15 years, Dave has also been a professional clown and storyteller.

Hawkeyes travel from coast to coast to visit us. Hamburg Inn No. 2, one of Iowas most famous restaurants, was featured in the Washington Posts Great American Hamburger Debate, national public radios program All Things Considered and Susan Stramburgs Every Night at Five.

It was a film location for Ducks Breath movie, Zadar, Cow from Hell. The Quad City Times states its a piece of AmericanaFormer President Ronald Reagan visited The Burg in 1992 and former President Bill Clinton was our guest in 2003. We have been visited by many politicians and candidates and are a must Meet the People Stop for all campaigns. The Burg is the host of the original and only Official Iowa Coffee Bean Caucus (as featured on the television show The West Wing in 2005) and Iowa Coffee Bean Ballot, helping to attract local, state, national and international interest to Iowa politics.

Iowa River Power Company

www.powercompanyrestaurant.com

At the turn of the century, a flour mill operated on the site that is now occupied by the Iowa River Power Restaurant. Construction on the present structure was completed in 1902 to house a power generating station that operated until 1964. It was sold to the City of Coralville for $1.00 and they, in turn, sold it to others who used it for storage until 1976.

Conversion of the structure into a restaurant began in February of 1977. The Iowa River Power Restaurant officially opened Monday, October 24, 1977. The rest, as they say, is history.

IRP serves steaks, seafood and prime rib along with a beautiful view of the Iowa River.

Java House

Each day, thousands of Iowa City residents step up to the counter at the seven Java House locations. For many in the community, a visit to the Java House is a daily ritual.
Since 1994, when the first Java House opened on the second floor of Prairie Lights Books, guests have enjoyed its relaxed, inviting atmosphere. (Learn more about the Java House story.) Each location has a coffee bar, where experienced baristas and quality coffees guarantee the perfect individually-brewed cup. Antique overstuffed chairs and couches beckon for guests to sit down and catch up with friends, take in the days newspapers, or crack open a textbook.

On Fridays, live music and engaging conversation are part of the vibrant scene as the downtown Java House becomes home during the day to local public radio shows Java Blend and the Exchange and at night to Friday Night Music shows featuring local artists.

If youve never visited the Java House before, consider this your invitation to stop in. If youre a Java House regular, were waiting to welcome you back.
We want to hear about your experience. Tell us what were doing right or what we can improve by e-mailing myexperience@thejavahouse.com.

Each day, thousands of Iowa City residents step up to the counter at the seven Java House locations. For many in the community, a visit to the Java House is a daily ritual.

Each location has a coffee bar, where experienced baristas and quality coffees guarantee the perfect individually-brewed cup. Antique overstuffed chairs and couches beckon for guests to sit down and catch up with friends, take in the days newspapers, or crack open a textbook.

On Fridays, live music and engaging conversation are part of the vibrant scene as the downtown Java House becomes home during the day to the local public radio show Java Blend and at night to Friday Night Music shows featuring local artists.

The Mill

www.icmill.com

A locally owned establishment for Great Food, Music and Cocktails since 1962
History
Keith Dempster opened The Mill Restaurant in 1962 as a coffee house/restaurant/folk music venue. Over the years it became the center of an Americana music community in Iowa City that has achieved national and international fame. The Mill also became known for great pizza and sandwiches.
The Present
At the end of June, 2003 The original owners, Keith and Pam, closed The Mill. But The Mill was important to many people in Iowa City, where the local landmarks are steadily replaced with cookie-cutter buildings and chain restaurants. On July 19, 2003 we reopened and will preserve The Mill for as long as possible.
Our Goal
Well maintain, and even improve upon, all the things that make The Mill a special place in Iowa City. We will be a home for many great area musicians and artists. Well bring nationally renowned artists to this intimate venue. Our friendly staff will serve great food and drinks at a great price.

Wildwood Saloon

www.wildwoodsaloon.com

Welcome to the Wildwood Smokehouse and Saloon!!

If youre wondering how the Wildwood Smokehouse & Saloon came to be in the Eastern Iowa, here’s a little history…..

I have had a dream of opening a country bar since I was a college student in the early 1990’s after spending countless nights at the Red Stallion in Coralville, Iowa. Unfortunately it closed in 1994 and there has been a void in the Iowa City area ever since. I’m an Iowa kid that grew up on a farm listening to hours of country music while driving the tractor. The only station that came in on our tractor’s AM radio that played music was WMAQ out of Chicago. When I was out of college, I spent time down in Texas in the Fort Worth area during the summers and on several vacations. It’s cowboy country and I love it.

Through months of hard work building a business plan, pitching our plan to multiple banks and with many, many meetings with different groups of people (architects, bankers, builders, etc), the dream hit the ground running last June 23rd, 2008, when we signed the paperwork to purchase the land and secure the loan for the project. (Thank you First American Bank!)

The Wildwood name stems from all of the barn wood that is in the place. We were blessed to have been given the opportunity by Mark and Char Madsen of Atalissa, Iowa to have the lumber off of their 100 year old barn that they were going to tear down. That was quite a project in itself to get all of timbers and barn boards down piece by piece. We are really excited about the look that it gives the Wildwood.

I hope you enjoy your experience at the Wildwood Smokehouse and Saloon – there’s no other one like it in the Midwest. Our goal is to give you a taste of Texas!!
